1. The student should be able to describe the
principal role of the pediatric physiatrist in the following settings:
inpatient rehabilitation unit, outpatient clinic and consultative service.
2. Elicit developmental and functional history
from parents of children who have a disability.
3. Demonstrate the ability to perform neurologic
and musculoskeletal examinations on children with disabilities.
4. Describe the roles of the member sof the pediatric
rehabilitation team including occupational, physical, and recreational and
speech therapy.
5. Describe the basic pathophysiology, clinical presentation,
physical assessment and treatment of spasticity.
6. Identify common sequelae of pediatric acquired
brain injury.
7. List important issues related to education and
vocational training for children with special needs.
8. Gain knowledge in
common pieces of equipment and orthoses that may be beneficial to children with
disability.
