1) Evaluate the significance of skin tags that are eruptive, their association with internal neoplasms and, if necessary, remove skin tags in an appropriate fashion demonstrating proper technique.
2) Under the supervision of the clinical faculty, prepare a potassium hydroxide preparation (KOH) on any patient with a papulous squamous disease; demonstrate the proper technique of collecting the sample, using the potassium hydroxide and interpret the slides prepared.
3) Perform Tzanck preparation, an exfoliative cytology technology which is indispensable in the early diagnosis of acanthotic disorders and viral cutaneous lesions. Collect the specimen, stain it, and interpret the results.
4) Take scabies scrapings which are necessary to establish the diagnosis of sarcoptic scabiei infestations; properly collect the specimen using mineral oil and scale; and give an interpretation of the specimens.
5) Perform cutaneous biopsies and know the proper closure of larger biopsy sites and the proper care of smaller biopsy sites.
